PROJECT BACKGROUND
A social shopping community underlying a multivendor eCommerce marketplace
The client has been developing a social shopping community for sellers, shoppers, and investors. Marrying social networks and marketplaces, the solution aims to build a connected platform where influencer activity is rewarded and user recommendations facilitate product choice while fostering brand and seller loyalty.
With Bloop’s pioneering platform, investors can jump on the social shopping bandwagon, bank on minimized customer acquisition costs, and drive conversion rates.
Sellers capitalize on free online visibility via user-generated recommendations, streamline their marketing strategies by tapping into shopper experience insights, and better address Gen Z & Y.
Shoppers leverage their influence, connect to the community, and explore products and services within a dynamic interest-based social context.
CLIENT’S OBJECTIVES
Being accountable to over 130 investors, the Bloop team was eager to prepare a robust tech underpinning for their solution's next fundraising round. The major jobs for the potential marketplace integrators were to:
- Effectively integrate BigCommerce and Marketplacer platforms while adjusting the data flows to their tech infrastructure
- Automate data import via the (S)FTP (secure file transfer protocol)

BigCommerce to Marketplacer integration software
Given the client’s need to cut the time-to-market, Amitech Group devised an idea to adjust its branded prebuilt BigCommerce Marketplacer Connector SaaS to Bloop’s business and tech ecosystem. The scope of work included the two major tasks:
1. Marketplace integration software customization
Order metafields export
First, our team enabled the export of custom order metafields from BigCommerce to Marketplacer.
Credits as discounts
In the BigCommerce checkout, we applied customer credits as manual discounts. These discounts were originally mapped to an operator-managed promotion in Marketplacer. We used a promotion ID provided by the Bloop team to map the discounts.
Conditional order export
The team configured order export to ensure it happens strictly after credit verification, when the order status changes to 'awaiting fulfillment'. We also enabled configuration of export statuses within the database.
Multiple variant images support
Amitech Group implemented a naming convention for product images to associate them with specific variants. We also modified the product export process to introduce image descriptions that align with the required format.
Cancellation flows disabling
It was critical to prevent unwanted cancellation flows, so the team disabled the REFUND_REQUEST webhooks in the Marketplacer operator portal.
