Finding a key to reduce the time to market to a bare minimum? We’re in! And we have an ironclad key to rigid, inflexible eCommerce stores. Amitech Group’s branded Marketplace Connector proved its magic capability to unlock unprecedented scalability yet again.

This time, we helped General Pants Co. furnish their Shopify marketplace with multiseller capabilities while mapping taxonomy and ads for the extended product range. The brand-new multivendor store hit the market in a matter of weeks and was further carefully supported by our team.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Marketplace scalability issues

General Pants Co. aimed to enable its partners to sell products through the existing Shopify store. Yet, the marketplace wasn’t scalable enough to accommodate more vendors without wrecking the functionality.

The client considered implementing the Marketplacer Range Extension capability to remove the seller growth barrier.

Still, the challenge remained to seamlessly integrate Shopify with Marketplacer while streamlining the data workflows and preventing potential operational lapses.

CLIENT’S OBJECTIVES

  • Integrate the existing Shopify store with Marketplacer
  • Extend the seller range with their partner brands

VENDOR COMPETITION WIN

To the client, Amitech Group’s rich expertise in building eCommerce ecosystems and multivendor marketplace integration tools was decisive. The team’s certification by the Marketplacer Foundations, alongside the stripes of a trusted tech partner, secured the project for us.

CHALLENGE

Taxonomy synchronization

The main technical challenge was aligning different taxonomies and rules for smart collections (products that automatically group based on data-driven criteria) between the client’s existing and new Marketplacer catalog.

To nail the job, we leveraged the Shopify to Marketplacer Connector’s capabilities to map the Marketplacer taxonomy and advertisement options to Shopify metafields.

SOLUTION

Shopify marketplace integration software

By introducing its branded Shopify to Marketplacer integration tool, Amitech Group helped the client resolve the taxonomy synchronization issues while critically reducing the time to market for the upgraded multivendor eCommerce marketplace.

The Shopify to Marketplacer Connector serves as a black box that includes the backend code, open API, infrastructure, middleware services, reporting tools, and other components provided to General Pants Co..

The resulting solution features the following capabilities:

  • Seller synchronization
  • Product synchronization
  • Multiseller or Golden product support
  • Taxonomy synchronization
  • Product batch, or bulk upload
  • Product and category management
  • Order synchronization
  • Shipping rules synchronization
  • Cart items grouping
  • Shipment synchronization
  • Promotions synchronization
  • Open API for frontend customization
  • Built-in monitoring

Marketplacer

The best-in-class prebuilt platform to grow fast in line with business needs. Alongside powering the Shopify marketplace integration tool, it helped the team minimize the effort in scaling the client’s seller ranges, mapping the taxonomy across a wealth of product categories, and deploying the dropshipping capability.

Shopify

Amitech Group employed Shopify as a B2B SaaS to host the Connector solution. The platform enabled the team to efficiently configure and demonstrate the Shopify Marketplacer integration app’s user interface while allowing us to bring in conveniently customizable shipping rules.

Further improvements

Upon the solution release, the client requested a minor scope of ongoing tech support and customization for category and product mapping. Our team also assisted General Pants Co. with the system onboarding.

During the hypercare support stage, we provided a reactive response to each request, alongside follow-up meetings with Q&A sessions.

To date, Amitech Group has accepted another scope of work centered on modifying the solution architecture to split a product characteristic into a dedicated category.
